She may have been runner-up in the official Australian Idol competition, but Jessica Mauboy has already scored a record deal with Sony BMG. Only a few weeks after Damien Leith claimed the top spot at the Sydney Opera House, both Jessica and her cute Idol buddie Dean have been labeled as the next big things.

"I'm pleased to confirm we have signed Jessica and Dean," said the head of Sony BMG, Denis Handlin. "They are tremendously talented kids, and we're excited about their futures."

Denis also hinted that crooner Bobby Flynn might soon be signed to the label. So that means you better make room on your iPod for some totally cool new tunes!
