Hk-based firm buys RM7mil ERP system
QI SERVICES Sdn Bhd has invested RM7mil to roll out an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution in its Malaysian office.
The subsidiary of Hong Kong-based conglomerate QI Ltd inked an agreement with management and technology consulting firm ISS Consulting (M) Sdn Bhd last week, to purchase the mySAP solution.
Datuk Vijay Eswaran, group managing director of QI Ltd, said the ERP solution is needed to support QI's expanding business in Malaysia. "As we grow, transactions are (becoming) voluminous and it is crucial that we have a system that can improve our business processes," he said.
The roll-out of the system at QI Services is expected to be done in two phases.
The first phase, which is set to begin next month, will involve the enhancing of its business processes, such as planning and quality management, sales and distribution, and accounting.
This phase is expected to be completed in six months.
The second phase will involve enhancing QI Services' human resource and customer relationship management processes.
Sanjay Nair, managing director of ISS Consulting Sdn Bhd, said his company has added another feather to its cap with the QI Services purchase.
