500 screaming fans greet Good Charlotte

SUBANG JAYA: Nearly 500 screaming fans of American pop-rock band Good Charlotte turned up for an autograph-signing session here yesterday.

The band, made up of vocalist Joel Madden, lead guitarist Benji Madden, guitarist Billy Martin, bassist Paul Thomas and drummer Dean Butterworth were mobbed by excited fans who jostled one another to snap pictures of them.

The mostly teenaged fans had waited at the venue as early as 10am.

Ten-year-old Beatrice Lim was thrilled to finally meet her idols.

“I can’t stop trembling. I would love to go to the concert but my mom said no,” said the pint-sized fan.

Walking with crutches was Izram Haris, 17, who turned up early to avoid hurting himself in the crowd.

“I’m not going to the concert, obviously” he said jokingly.

Later in the night, Good Charlotte performed songs from their new album Good Morning Revival to a crowd of 6,000 at Stadium Putra's car park, Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

Local acts Lo, Estranged and One Buck Short performed as well.
