BASQUE IN YOUR GLORY...

The art of seduction. Ahhhhh yes! That glorious age old potion of feminine trickery, womanly wiles and a damn good set of lingerie. Matching that is. Some may well say that the art of seduction could be confused with the art of naughty deception. Hush! Who, as a woman, am I to say? But just this morning, a wonderful lace, body sculpting snippet fell into my seduction armoury. Snap. Just like that when I least expected it.

Seduction and serendipity all in one moment. A perfect garment.

I was running late for an appointment at Harrods. Which in itself was all rather a bit of a mystery to me. I had the luxury of being invited for a personal bra fitting, and to select a set of lingerie from American wonder label Le Mystere. It was all still a mystery to me. "Who needs more lingerie labels", I thought, "when I have La Perla and Bodas to cover all my options". And then, of course, there is the current trend to go commando a la Britney Spears and Jemima Khan. Yes, the options abound. The mind boggles, and dirty sods the world over are still googling my blog to search for pictures of the aforementioned. You won't find them. So stop.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered a lingerie label that is a combination of La Perla's delicateness, and Bodas' functionability (does such a word exist?...who knows).

My eyes fell on the black lace moulded bra. Moulded because the cup actually moulds forever to your shape and size. How's that for body forming. You would not think to look at the thinness of the cups....but that is that art of seduction and deception wrapped into one. The fabulous Lila who was guiding me through my fittings coaxed me into the white Bridal Seduction Bustier. Stop. The. Press. Hello?? Ladies this is it. Your answer to a figure hugging, streamlining undergarment, that feels like you are simply wearing a silk-like swimsuit. For brides to be this is perfect to wear underneath your wedding dress. In fact this is the bridal lingerie must-have. Even the camisoles have hidden agendas. The sexy black lace cami (top left) has a seamless integrated bar in a sort of best-supporting act role.

For those, like me, who are no closer to being a bride than they are to being an Oscar winning best supporting actress in a Woody Allen movie, (I do know which dresses I'ld wear on both occassions) this bustier comes in black. And it's lethal. Aptly called the Black Seduction Bustier it really is like a second skin. Perfect to wear underneath a black jacket with a pair of jeans...or hidden...under a chunky knit cardigan, until.....well...he wants to basuqe in your glory I guess. The bustier has fabulous soft lace straps and the all important option of wearing a suspender belt.

Now all the way over in America where nothing is done in half measures, the Queen of chat show tv, the lady of the nation, Oprah, is a huge fan of the smoothline t-shirt bras. In fact such a fan is she, that on one show, all of the guests in the audience received a bra. Well, that is America for you.

Back home I eagerly await the arrival of my Black Seduction Bustier. Better still, is the price, £86,95. Now put that on ladies and ...basque in your own glory.
