NHL: Tampa Bay 3, Washington 2 (SO)
Martin St. Louis scored the game-winner in the shootout Thursday night to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a 3-2 victory over the Washington Capitals. Vincent Lecavalier scored two goals, and Marc Denis made 36 saves on 38 shots -- stopping all three Washington shootout skaters -- for the red-hot Lightning. Tampa Bay pulled within one point of Atlanta for first place in the Southeast Division with the 14th win in their past 17 games. Dainius Zubrus had a goal and an assist, Alexander Semin added a goal, and Brent Johnson made 27 saves on 29 shots for the Capitals, who have three losses in their last four games. Semin scored on the power play for Washington and Lecavalier did the same thing for Tampa Bay. The contest was tied, 2-2, at the end of regulation after Zubrus scored at 19:45 of the third period.
